Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Only Good Puns (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs onlygoodpuns.com, a free, searchable directory of puns. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
The short version: you can browse, search and copy puns without giving us any personal information. We only collect your name and email address if you choose to submit a pun, and we use analytics to understand how the site is used.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you submit a pun through our Submit a pun form, we collect:
- Your pun. The text you submit.
- Your name. Used to credit you if we publish your pun. You may use a nickname.
- Your email address. Used only to contact you about your submission, for example to let you know it has been published or to ask a question about it.
We will never publish your email address, sell it, or add you to a mailing list without asking first.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, some information is collected automatically:
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, such as which pages are popular, how long visits last, and what type of device and browser are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (country or city level), device type, browser, the pages you visit and how you arrived at the site. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
- Server and security data. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site, keep it fast and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security purposes.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use:
| Cookie type | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 | Measures site traffic and how pages are used |
| Security | Cloudflare | Protects the site from bots and malicious traffic |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies will not stop you from browsing or copying puns.

We use the information we collect to:
- Review, publish and credit pun submissions

These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States and Australia. We may also disclose information if required by law.
